SOMEONE CLAIMING TO BE FROM HIS PHONE COMPANY, WITH A SURVEY. THEN HE NOTICED BIZARRE CHARGES ON HIS AT&T PHONE BILL. LIKE THIS ONE FOR $13.84 FROM A THIRD PARTY COMPANY NAMED USB EYE. AND HE CALLED USB I HE SAYS THEY PLAYED A RECORDING. ALL I HEARD WAS ME ANSWERING — HE’S — REPORTER: HE SAYS THE BILLING COMPANY FOR LONG- DISTANCE CLAIM THAT RECORDING OF PROVED HE AGREED TO SWITCH TO THEIR LONG DISTANCE SERVICES. HE INSISTS HE DID NOT. THEY MUST HAVE EDITED A GUEST FROM ANOTHER QUESTION WHICH I BELIEVE WAS A QUESTIONNAIRE. REPORTER:WE LEARNED IN 2014 THE FCC FIND CENTRAL TELECOM LONG-DISTANCE $3.9 MILLION FOR UNJUST, UNREASONABLE, AND DECEPTIVE PRACTICES. MENTIONING ONE WOMAN’S COMPLAINT THAT TOOK A RECORDING OF HER ANSWERING YES TO ANOTHER QUESTION AND COPIED IT MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE PLAYBACK. AND CHANGE CONSUMERS PREFERRED LONG-DISTANCE CARRIER FELL — CARRIERS WITHOUT THEIR AUTHORIZATION. IT’S NOT HONEST. REPORTER:DANIELLE WITH THE BBB SAYS THAT PRACTICE OF TRICKING YOU INTO SWITCHING COMPANIES IS CALLED SLAMMING. I FEEL THAT I WAS PLAYED REPORTER:AFTER RECALLED HIS PHONE COMPANY, AT&T, IT WORKED TO GET ALL OF HIS MONEY REFUNDED. HE WENT — HE NO LONGER PLANS TO ANSWER QUESTIONS OVER THE PHONE ANYMORE. I WILL JUST HANG UP ON 70. REPORTER: WE REACHED OUT DIRECTLY TO USB I WHICH SENT US TO CENTRAL TELECOM. THEY TOOK MY INFORMATION AND NEVER GOT BACK TO ME. YOUR PHONE COMPANY MAY PUT THIRD-PARTY CHARGES ON YOUR BILL, AT&T SAYS IT REQUIRES THOSE COMPANIES TO FOLLOW STRICT GUIDELINES OR COULD TERMINATE ITS DEAL TO BILL FOR THE COMPANY. YOU CAN PROTECT YOURSELF BY CALLING YOUR PHONE COMPANY AND PUTTING A THIRD-PARTY BLOCK
