Directory Search – Learning the Telephone System


The telephone system allows for you to easily
search for anyone who is in the phone directory by their last name or initials. This is an incredibly useful feature. Let’s take a look at how to use it. To begin searching the directory to call someone,
simply type the first letter of either the last name or initials of the person you are
looking for using the keyboard at the base of the phone. This can be done from any screen on the display. Before you can search the directory, you must
add at least a second letter. When you are ready, select either the soft
key next to initials or name. The results of our search will be shown on
the display. If there is more than one person who matches
the search, they will be displayed on different lines. Use the soft key next to the person you want
to call. Note that pressing the soft key will call
them immediately. There is no longer a need to memorize everyone’s
extension now that you are a master of searching the built in directory. To review:
Access directory search from any screen. Just start typing! You can search by last name or initials. A minimum of 2 letters must be typed before
