How to Locate Your Webfile Number [Official]

how to create a Webfile account video to learn how to sign up. If you already have an account, let’s continue. I’m going to show you how to find your Webfile
number. This number is your access code to the comptroller’s
electronic reporting system. Let’s get started. Your Webfile number is a 6 digit number beginning
with RT000000 or XT000000. This number is unique to your account and
tax type. The FQ number is only for the Franchise questionnaire
and is not used for filing returns or making payments. For most tax types you will find the RT000000
Webfile number in the upper left hand margin of the pre-printed returns. Franchise tax XT000000 number is in the upper
left hand margin or on the right hand side of the correspondence we send to the address
on file. Remember, the Webfile number will be different
for each tax type. Be sure to check the tax type header on your
correspondence. If you can’t find your Webfile number our
automated phone system can provide it at 1-800-442-3453. You will be asked to provide confidential
account information like prior return data or prior payment. Note that certain taxes cannot be verified
without return or payment information. Once your profile has been created in the
Webfile system, you’ll see the esystems menu. Click on Webfile/pay taxes and fees. Enter your 11 digit taxpayer number and click
continue. Click on the tax type your adding under the
link Available Taxes/Fees. Enter your Webfile number and click create
access. Once you’ve entered the correct Webfile number
you will be prompted to accept and agree to the terms. If you can’t find your Webfile number our
