So Huawei’s CEO did an interview a few days
ago where he said their new flagship phone the Huawei P40 Pro will have and I quote,
a never-before-seen design. That’s a really bold claim considering smartphone
designs have kinda got plateaued. But it looks like he wasn’t kidding. The P40 Pro will indeed have a never before
seen design. On leaks as you know a very reliable tipster
revealed the first look of the P40 Pro which shows that the phone will have a quad curved
display. That’s right not only it will have display
curves at the sides but at the top and bottom as well. We saw multiple Samsung patents in the past
suggesting that Samsung has this kinda design in their mind as well but it looks like Huawei
will beat Samsung to this design and launch the industry-first quad curved design. In my opinion, this will surely look great
and futuristic. But there’s absolutely zero practical applications
of this design apart from the fact that it looks cool. Also, this will make the device even more
fragile. You can put cases on this thing, though as
the display doesn’t curve at the corners but I honestly don’t know how I feel about this
design. On one hand, I’m a sucker for good looks and
I want my phone to look beautiful but on the other hand, I don’t want the new design to
ruin the user experience. Accidental touches are surely going to be
a thing with this handset even though they can use software to prevent it. But even then it’s going to be a problem for
sure. So I like this design and at the same time,
I also hate it if that makes any sense. Anyway, the camera design looks very familiar. It looks exactly like the Galaxy S11’s camera
design. I hate to say this but it looks like 2020
is going to be the year of who’s going to make the ugliest camera design. It started with the iPhone 11 Pro, Pixel 4,
Galaxy S11 and now the P40 Pro and I’m sure the rest will follow this stupid trend as
well. Also, the P40 Pro will have the industry-first
10 times optical zoom camera. It was rumored a few days ago that the Galaxy
S11+ will also have the 10 times optical zoom camera but it looks like that wasn’t true. It’ll have 5 times optical zoom instead. And Huawei will be the first one to use the
10 times optical zoom. This comes from Ice Universe and also Ming-Chi
Kuo who are the top industry insiders out there. The P40 Pro will come with an 8MP periscope
zoom camera with an f/4.0 aperture. While the Galaxy S11 will offer 5x optical
zoom through a 48MP telephoto camera. So these are totally two different approaches. The image that you’ll end up with the Galaxy
S11 is going to be more detailed because of the higher megapixels and better aperture. Whereas the P40 Pro will give that 10 times
optical zoom but with slightly lower image quality. By the way, I’m just speculating we don’t
have these devices in the hand so it’s impossible to say which is going to offer the best quality. But let know your thoughts. Do you think there’s much practical applications
of 10x zoom? or Do you think zooming so far away is a bit of an overkill. Do let me know down in the comments and as
always I’ll see you tomorrow…Peace out!

  1. "Accidental touches are surely gonna be a thing with this handset even though they can use software to prevent that… But even then it's gonna be a problem for sure"

Why are you so sure about it? As far as I remember, everyone was calling the waterfall display on the mate 30 pro a disaster until it released and the software they were using showed it was totally not a problem.

  2. Damn… why do we even need more, than 3 cameras on the back of smartphone? When this craziness has happened? All i need, is: 1x standard, 1x zoom, 1x ultrawide. Can we just stop doing that, Huawei? Samsung? Anyone?

  3. That's useless tho imo. Full screen would only help me watch movies better. Other than that curved phones don't really look cool at all imo. Samsung's curve is okay and doesn't really bother me that much but more than that is no go for me.

  4. Telephoto sure does have its practical application. Only that the quality renders the image of no practical use at all. If huawei provides a 64 MP telephoto, then were talking practical.

  5. Hey sal… Just one question… What is the use of this design???. I think there will be huge accidental touches.. Right.. Why do they actually choose that?

  6. Never again would I buy a curved screen everyone I have ever had broke. But every non curved has last 2+years no problem. And they are crazy expensive to repair because they have to replace the whole screen not just the glass if you get a crack. Don't do it.

  7. I don't care about the design until performance is good, user experience is good, camera quality is excellent and battery is good.
Design is the last thing which is see to decide about a phone.

  8. The main thing is to look beautifull.. Soo 4 sides watterfall curved design is just for me. But 7.0 or 7.2 screen with no punch hole and 5000mah graphene battery would be lovely

  9. Anyway… i love my Samsung s10 plus and will keep it no matter what ) don't give a damn about new shitty designs and bullshit form camera's

  10. If they haven't got to 100x zoom by 2020 then nobody should brag. Too have 108mp cams and have to downgrade the quality is just wrong, just like 4k recording and downloading it to 1080 or 1440 for phone screens. Just a waste. Help us China.

  11. Does it not look like the Honor v30? As that phone has already been released before any of Samsung's iteration showcasing the rectangular module. In fact the square module was seen on the mate 20 initially.

  12. Well some people want to show off and for that they either show off the phone brand (iPhones) or beauty of the phone like Samsung and competitors curved phones

  13. Curved screen design makes the screen so much more fragile. For drop protection it is far more practical to have a flat screen combined with a case that has a raised lip.

  14. You make a lot of wrong assumptions with regards to acidental touches as well as with regards to zero applications for having an all around bezel less phone. My mate 30 pro has zero acidental touches because the left and right screen are different from the main one. I'm sure the same will be true for the p 40 Pro. Also having the horizon display on the mate 30 pro is fantastic for gaming since you can program adicional buttons on the curved side of the screen. Again I'm sure they will implement some other cool function on the top and bottom screen of the p40 Pro.

  15. Do u remember when first apple introduced the iPhone was the first phone with notch display and then samsung did the same thing with the galaxy s8.

  16. This is not a stupid trend at all!
That’s how we make things change, and evolve, just a way to see how people will receive this innovation, learn to use it or see a way to improve it again and again
This is called innovation, that’s how we make the world change and go forward, not let it stuck in the past.

  17. Totally agree with camera ugly design..if this ugly shitt design happened i will quit buying samsung and other same camera layout mobiles.

  18. Its not ugly. Apples cameras are amazing. The samsung one, if they will reorganise it a little bit will look futuristic and bold. Lovely. 3 or 3 cameras under each other is so 2019

  19. Stupid camera design? Please explain to me how they could make it look better with all those cameras. Its not stupid if thats the only way there is no smarter way to arrange the cameras

  20. I don't need any curved edge's.. give me a top spec phone with 2 seperate speaker's, iphone 11 pro/pixel 4 photo quality, 6,9 inch 4K HDR+ FLAT oled screen 😎

  21. 10x optical zoom with less megapixel wouldnt mean that the quality of the image is lower than the higher megapixel camera. The 48mp camera will still not take the photo on 48mp…

  22. Good luck with screen protectors LMAO 🙂 I'm sure they didnt make the waterfall design on the corner to prevent it from breaking due to drops on the corners.

  23. you might want to check with doctor because you have nail clubbing condition bro, Nail clubbing is sometimes the result of low oxygen in the blood and could be a sign of various types of lung disease.

  24. howw many time i have to say that stupid
camera design was started by the Huawei mate 20 pro with that square camera in the back
