LG Viper 4g LTE Complete Disassembly and Repair LS840

The LG Viper LTE. Remove the back from the bottom. The battery…the SD card. Screws to be removed. Then remove the back of the phone. Carefully pry up the back. Don’t force anything. Speaker… Camera… Vibrator… Headset jack…. Cables. Pry up the connector here. It’s seated in the main board so be careful
not to break anything. It has an attachment just underneath the board
there. It will come off. There’s a connector there, and there. Then the connectors on the sides just open
by itself…gently. Pull the board away. And you’ll have connectors by your speaker
on there. So make sure
to lift that up out of there. And then the cable attachments underneath
the board. Rear facing camera…volume. The cable assembly for the touch screen and
LCD. Everything else is going to be built kind
of in the housing. You should be able to heat up and pry this
off as well, to remove the digitizer. Adhesive. There’s your mic. Make sure your filter goes back in place. Reset your cable on the side. Make sure you plug your housing in again. Push it into place. Reset your speaker….cables. This goes back in there…oops…there. This will clasp back down. Then just replace your screws. Then replace your SD card…battery…back. And that’s all.

  1. hi, how come you didnt show how to detach so we could get to the lcd & replace it? is it possible for uou to do that perhaps?

  2. That IS the screen. It is stuck as a whole unit. It is possible to separate the digitizer from the LCD but you risk cracking the lcd as it it very fragile. Take a small thin plastic tool and begin to pry up on the glass, and just work your way around. It helps if you heat it up a little first. The reason i didn't show this in the video, is because i don't recommend doing it. You will probably crack the LCD unless you spend a long time being very careful.

  3. Sorry for the belated responce,

  4. Thank you to Scott & JerryRig!!! Between the two videos posted here I was able to remove my shattered screen and replace it with a new one of 10X less money than Sprint wanted! Thanks to you the hardest part was getting the screws loose!

  5. It's so strange seeing how more confident that you got from here to you are in your more recent videos haha
