OnePlus 3 Fingerprint Sensor Repair Guide

Power off the phone. Take out SIM card tray. Undo two small T2 screws. You need two plastic opening tools. Slide the tool to open a gap. Be careful not to scratch the metal rear cover. Then insert another tool. Keep sliding. Then you can see a gap here. Be careful not to scratch the metal rear cover. Then pry up the rear cover on the bottom of the phone. Keep prying up. Similar to iPhone here. Slide the plastic tool to separate the side of the rear housing. Mind the power button. Take you efforts. The same on the other side. Need some time to remove it. There is no adhesive. After slide along the rear housing cover. You can separate the rear housing and the front screen assembly now. Undo 1 Phillips screws. Remove the metal bracket. Remove the wire cable Release connectors of motherboard and charging port flex. Remove motherboard cable flex. Loudspeaker module. Undo 7 Phillips screws.(2 big & 3 small screws) Release wire cable connector. Release proximity sensor and fingerprint sensor flex connectors. Pry up loudspeaker module. Take it out. Remove the black plastic cover first. Keep it. Pry up the tape. Pop out the fingerprint sensor from bottom. A black adhesive around it. And this is the fingerprint sensor flex. Replace a new fingerprint sensor. I use a black one to make it different. Put it in place. Make it fit well. Make the cable flex a little bit curve. Don’t forget to put back the black plastic cover. Put back the loudspeaker module. Reconnect the wire cable connector. Two little connectors. Tighten up 7 Phillips screws. Reconnect the charging port flex connector. Then the motherboard cable flex. Wire cable connector. Put back metal bracket. Tighten up a Phillips screw. Power on the phone. Settings – Security & fingerprint – Add fingerprint Set up a new fingerprint for testing. Make sure the new replacement works well. Then power off. Put the screen assembly back to the rear cover panel Put the top side in first. Pinch down two sides. Don’t put too much pressure on it in case you broken the screen. Mind the button. Pinch down the bottom Check whether the screen works well by power on the phone. Check the alert slider and the volume buttons. It works well. And the power button. Fasten two T2 screws at the bottom in place. Put back SIM card tray.

  1. hI, yesterday I replaced my Broken op3 screen. but now my homebutton (fingerprint) isn't working anymore? is there something special how to put back the fingerprint ? I have ordered a new homebutton, will the fingerprint work than? I know gr the iPhone that when you replace homebutton, the fingerprint stops working… is it here the same?

  3. If I change the button, will the fingerprint scanner work as the old one? Will it recognise the finger if I do the setups so the screen lock opens with fingeR?
