Music playing ♪ ♪ For this round of “Experiments,” we wanted to get some more
curious, other-worldly images with the iPhone XR. We also built a rig
to hold 32 phones to capture some of it
in a 360 view. ♪ So right now,
we’re in the process of lining up all the cameras
to a single focal point. That way, once we take a frame
from each camera and play them back, we can get that
rotating bullet time effect. ♪ So we put this on top of
a bucket that’s full of dry ice, and as the gas escapes,
it goes up this tube where we’ll have
some bubble solution, and it’ll drop out
wiggly bubbles that, when shot in slo-mo, will look
kind of cool and alien. And when they hit
the wet surface, they won’t pop. When they do burst,
the fog looks really nice as it kind of cascades
across the wet surface. ♪ This is slime. I’m going to spread it
across this grid and then we’ll get
little droplets falling evenly, spaced out across the grid. And as it falls,
we’re going to light it up from bottom and the top, and we’re going to shoot it
slo-mo. ♪ I filled this balloon with water
and different colors of ink to help better shape it
on camera. Just to capture that moment
where the water takes the shape of the balloon
and then becomes this waterfall that’s rushing towards
all the cameras. [SPLASHING] ♪ So this is a foil ball covered
in steel wool. We’re going to set it on fire
and play it back in slow motion. [THUD] [FIRE CRACKLING] Get down! Get down! ♪ Oh, wow! Whoo! [CRASHING] [SPLASHING] ♪ ♪ [WATER RUNNING]
