BARRY: WIRELESS PHONE SERVICE PROVIDERS T-MOBILE AND SPRINT HAVE ANNOUNCED THEIR DESIRE TO MERGE. 22NEWS REPORTER NICK ARESCO JOINS US WITH WHAT SUCH A MERGER COULD MEAN FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS. NICK: THE MERGER IS STILL NOT APPROVED YET — BUT IT COULD RESHAPE THE U.S. WIRELESS INDUSTRY. THE MERGER COULD HELP THE COMPANIES CUT COSTS AND MAKE THEM A STRONGER COMPETITOR TO AT&T AND VERIZON. HOWEVER, EXPERTS SAY CONSUMERS MIGHT SEE HIGHER PRICES BECAUSE THERE WOULD BE FEWER COMPETITORS IN THE INDUSTRY. IF APPROVED, THE COMBINED COMPANY WOULD BE VALUED AT 146-BILLION DOLLARS.
