Who Is Still Using Landlines?

Who Is Still Using Landlines?

THIS WILL BE MY GRADUATE THESIS SOME DAY. WELL, VOICE MAILS AND E- MAILS THEY SAY A QUARTER OF US HOMES HAVE DROPPED THEIR LAND LINES AND THEY’RE RECEIVING FEWER THAN 8% OF VOICE MAILS IN 2014. WE WANT TO KNOW WHO IS STILL USING LAND LINES AND HOW DO YOU MAKE A DECISION TO GET RID OF IT. AT THIS TABLE RAISE YOUR HAND IF YOU STILL HAVE A LAND LINE. JUST ME. I HAVE A SPECIFIC REASON FOR IT. MY WIFE WORKS AT HOME, AND WE PROBABLY WOULDN’T HAVE IT. ALTHOUGH YOU THINK ABOUT IT WITH BABY SITTERS AND KIDS, DO YOU NEED A LAND LINE. IF I LIVED IN AN APARTMENT OR IN A HOUSE I WOULD HAVE A LAND LINE IN TERMS OF A SECURITY SYSTEM AND 911. I’M CONSIDERING DITCHING MY LAND LINE, THIS CAME FROM SOMEONE, WHAT IS IT THAT I LOSE FROM THERE. SO, 911, HERE, YOUR LAND LINE IS CONNECTED TO AN ADDRESS, SO 911 KNOWS EXACTLY WHERE YOU ARE, YOUR CELLPHONE THEY CAN HAVE AN IDEA OF WHERE YOU ARE, BUT YOU HAVE TO SAY WHERE YOU ARE. THAT’S ONE THING, WHAT JAIMIE WAS TALKING ABOUT THERE WITH HOME SECURITY, BUT — IT ALERTS THE POLICE DIRECTLY TO SAY THIS ADDRESS, AN ALARM IS GOING OFF YOU, I THINK SOME PEOPLE AFTER THE BRIDGE COLLAPSE CELLPHONE SERVICE WAS DOWN, IN CASES OF EMERGENCY THEY LIKE TO FEEL THAT COMFORT. YOU FEEL LIKE, IT COSTS $20, OR $22. IF YOU BUNDLE IT’S CHEAPER, IT DOESN’T MAKE SENSE TO ME. IT’S LIKE AIRLINES, DID YOU TO TAKE A CROSS-COUNTRY TRIP, IT’S CHEAPER THAN TAKING THE ONE FLIGHT. 2% HAVE NO PHONE, 9% HAVE JUST A LAND LINE, HALF OF PEOPLE HAVE A LAND LINE AND AND CELLPHONE. AND 41% OF PEOPLE HAVE JUST THE CELLPHONE. THEY’VE DITCHED THE LAND LINE ENTIRELY. MILLENIALS IT’S A LOT HIGHER. THEY’RE NOT GETTING LAND LINES AND THEY’RE DRIVING THAT NUMBER UP. AS YOU LIVE IN SIT AND MORE AND MORE MILLENIALS ARE DOING, YOU WHERE THE CELL COVERAGE IS NOT SO GOOD, THEY DROP THE CALLS. THEY DROP THE CALLS IN THE GARAGE OR WHATEVER. THAT IS WHAT HE CLAIMS IN THE CONFERENCE CALL. IN THE MORNING, I GET TIRED OF LISTENING, OH, THAT’S A TRICK WE DO WITH OUR MOMS. OH, NO.
